Fairy tales and the letter Qq

Last week, we had fun reading a few classic fairy tales.  We read Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and The Princess and the Pea.  We talked about things that are present in fairy tales such as Kings and Queens, castles, knights, dragons, and treasure.  We also talked about the letter Qq and practiced writing both the uppercase and lowercase Qq.  We even read a story about Quackers the duck, which incorporated lots of words that begin with the letter Qq.  As we read the story, the students sequenced pictures from the story that they colored and cut.  The students also did a great job coming up with Qq words such as queen, quilt, quail, quiet, and more!

On Monday, we had fun playing with castles, knights, and princesses.

The students also used their creativity to create their very own castle and used their imaginations to come up with a name for their castle.

The students enjoyed using glitter glue to make crowns fit for a king or queen.

Working on a fairy tale themed puzzle with friends!

A counting game with treasure!

We enjoyed the nice weather last week by using the field behind the church to run and play basketball.
