For the nocturnal animal book, the students colored each animal the appropriate color that was listed in the book. After coloring, they choose their own nocturnal animal or night object to add and practiced their writing skills by tracing the name of their chosen animal or object in their book.
Paper Bag Owls

The students had fun playing with stuffed nocturnal animals and building homes for them with the wooden building blocks.
The day after Halloween, we joined Mrs. Heather's class for "A day in the dark" to simulate being nocturnal. The students had fun glow drawing, making shapes and letters on the light box, making patterns on the lite brites, and playing with glow-in-the-dark flubber.
